Last Minute Valentine’s Day Ideas!
It's Feb 13th, the day before Valentine's day and you haven't planned anything yet! Don't worry you're not alone. Most blokes and birds don't plan anything until the day before. Hopefully this guide will help you create something special that he/she will wonder how long it took you to plan. As a last minute thing you'll need three things a gift, an activity and and a plan for dinner.
Valentine Gift
The best gift at this time is simply flowers and/or chocolate. Don't worry you don't have to fight the other men at the flower shop as FlyingFlowers has delivery on Valentine's day if you order before 11am! Ladies the best gift is probably a bottle of Whisky (if that's his thing) or some Lingerie for yourself.

Activity for the day/evening
If you're planning on spending the day with her/him you'll want to be sure to have a bit of a plan. This could range from simply planning a walk in the park to a night at the theater. The best way to figure out something fun to do is to think about all the different activities available in your city. This could be fun parks, pools, go karts, nice climbs. For example: if you lived in Edinburgh you could climb Arthur's Seat then head to a pub for a pint. That would be a lovely afternoon activity. Be creative and come up with something fun.
Another idea, if you're struggling to find something to do go to BuyAGift.co.uk and type in your city. It will pop-up a list of all the activities in your city.
Dinner
The final thing is dinner plans. If you have culinary skills we recommend making your own meal. However, this will take a bit of planning so be sure to go buy the ingredients right away. If you're planning on going out for a meal you might have to be creative and call LOTS of places. If you live near to other cities consider going for a drive and trying out a new restaurant.
After Dinner
if you have after dinner plans enjoy those activities. Otherwise it's always nice to go for an after dinner stroll through the city and maybe stop in for a drink at another location.
Remember, Valentine's day is all about love and togetherness. Be sure to enjoy the day and spend tell her/him how much you care about them. And guys, please don't forget the flowers!

Romantic Valentines Idea #3 – Personalize A Shared Gift
When you are thinking of Valentine's day ideas you want to be sure that you think of something that will be significant for both of you. The idea being that you are showing your love of each other and the relationship that you have together.
A great idea gift idea for a Valentine's day is a gift that you can share, separately. Here are a two examples of what we mean.

I Love You Pillowcase Set - A set of pillowcases when put together will say "I love you" but separately will only have half the message. A great metaphor for your love and an easy way to state those three letters words.
Engraved Two Heart Keyrings - Two key rings when put together form a heart. Separately they are a broken heart.
These are great gifts because separately they are their own unique item. However, together they make something complete different and special. This is a great way to symbolize your love with her or him and you should explain this meaning when presenting them with this special gift.
Romantic Idea #3 – Make Him/Her A Mix Tape
Back in the 80's and 90's everyone made their loved ones a mix tape to show someone how they felt. This was simply the way to show your love; through music. With the introduction of CD's the art form started to lose it's luster. Now with most of the music in digital format mix-tapes are no more. In fact, if you fancy a tape good luck! Unfortunately, the mix tape was so successful and helpful at telling someone how you felt. The mix-tape showed how much you cared as you needed to put in enough work to fix all the songs in 60 minutes, choose the right songs and the right order. Crikey it was a lot of work (but worth it)!

This year you can bring back the mix-tape idea with your loved one. GettingPersonal has released a mixed-tape USB cassette for everyone to enjoy and share. The mix tape is a 64MB USB Memory stick encased in a old school style cassette case. They have done their best to keeping it to the original as it will only hold up to 60 minutes of quality recording time. When finished with the version save it on your hard-drive and wipe it clean and re-used as often as required. A great romantic idea for a loved one who will remember the mix-tape days. Not quite as nostalgic with the younger crowd and they may miss the idea entirely. Click here to purchase the USB Mixed Tape from GettingPersonal.
If you are looking to make something slightly better than a Mix Tape for your loved one then consider our idea of giving an IPod loved with music . This involves buying an ipod and loading it with her favorite music!
A free version of the mix tape which can be equally romantic is to make her a YouTube Playlist. Simply make a playlist of her favorite music, videos and shows.
Whichever romantic idea you choose be sure to leave yourself enough time to select the music and/or videos. Also, be sure to start paying attention to him/her to ensure that you're picking whichever music he/she will like.
Romantic Idea #2 – A Night At Home To Remember
A great and not super expensive romantic idea is a night at home to remember. A night home to remember is when you stay in on Valentine's day rather than going out. You will save money, treat your lady very special and have a romantic evening.
1) Prepare a nice meal for her, preferably one of her favorites. If you don't know what to cook we suggest something not too heavy as you won't want to be stuffed. Although, some consider Jamie Oliver to be a dip stick he cooks some fine meals. Of course, if you have no cooking skills then take-away will work.
2) Have candles and flowers placed throughout your house (preferably in more than just the bedroom).
3) Give her flowers, chocolates and don't forget a card!
4) After dinner provide some sort of entertainment. This could include watching a film, playing a game, going for a walk or simply talking and enjoying a nice glass of wine. You don't want to suddenly finish your meal and then have to hop in the bath.
5) After dinner run a hot bath with Rose Bud Bath Flowers, place candles in the bathroom and turn off the lights. A perfect bath for two!
6) After the bath it's up to you!
Items Needed
- Dinner - Select your menu ahead of time.
- Wine
- Flowers
- Chocolates
- Rose Buds Bath Flowers
Remember, throughout the night should be about her and your love together. Talk about things that you would like to do with her in the future whether it's trying out a new pub, new restaurant or traveling the world. These are things that she'll want to hear as it shows that you care and think about your future together!
Bonus Tips
- The Rose Buds Bath Flowers are not totally necessary but great as they look like a perfect rose but dissolve in the water to release a heavenly rose scent and soothing elixir.
- If you're living by yourself be sure to clean the house properly. One of the biggest turn-off's for a bird is having a dirty place.
- You don't have to join her for a bath. Ask her if she wants company, don't assume you've been invited!
- Eyemasks
- Sensual Food: Chocolates, Fruit, Cheese, etc...
- Be sure to have a wide variety of fruits and chocolates for her to try.
- Select whichever type of fruit you know that she likes. (strawberries, pineapple and grapes are always good)
- Consider buying a Valentine's day hamper which will have all the requirements for this romantic idea.
- Champagne(or wine) is a must
- Simply go out and buy an ipod or other mp3 player. ~£150 (or whatever you want to spend)
- Now load the IPod with a variety of songs that have meaning between you and her. If you don't have the music then buy it at iTunes UK
as you get the music instantly
- Now repackage the Ipod so that it looks "unopened"
Romantic Idea #1 – Feed Her Sensual Food Blindfolded
Romantic idea #1: feeding her sensual food blindfolded with an eyemask. Tell her that taking away one sense will enhance the others making the food taste better.

While feeding her food don't forget to sneak in the occasional kiss as she'll like that too. When you're done feeding her she might want to feed you too be sure to take your turn and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Items Needed
Simply cut the fruit and food up into small 1-2 cm chunks. Put the blindfold on her and feed her very sensually making sure she tastes all the fruit and licks your fingers clean.
A few tips:
This romantic idea can be both sensual and romantic while not costing too many quid. The eyemask should only cost around £3.00 and the fruit and chocolates can cost however much you want. Be sure not to forget something to drink in case she doesn't like one of the fruits or chocolates.
How to Make Her Laugh on Valentine’s Day
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give to a loved one is the gift of laughter. And if your sweetheart has been unusually amazing this year, reward her with some surprises that will catch her off her guard, tickle her funny bone, and show her that you are still as fun to spend time with as when you first met! So, here are some ideas for some Valentine’s Day fun you could share together that just might make her giggle like you have never heard before!
Buy her a ring. Next, put the ring in a small box of chocolates. Then, put a chocolate in the ring box. Then, proceed to wrap the ring box, and place it in a little bit bigger box. Then wrap that box, and put it in a bigger box. Keep going, and don’t stop until you have used the biggest box possible. Also, simply wrap the chocolate box. Then, have her open the big one first. She will spend half an hour unwrapping it, only to find a chocolate! Tell her that you bought it specially for her, because you knew it was her favorite. Then, give her the small chocolate box. When she opens it, she will find the ring!

Another idea is to hide all of her chocolates, and give her an empty box that instead has small notes in each place where the chocolates were. These notes give clues as to where each piece of chocolate is hidden. She now has to read the notes and find each piece of chocolate individually! But tell her that the reward is a trip to the spa!

And last but not least… make sure you tickle her at least once! Your hands tickling her will make her giggle more than anything… but just make sure not to keep it up too long! Some girls find it a nuisance if you keep it up any more than a couple minutes.
Romantic Valentine’s Idea – Post A Love Letter To Her
A nice Valentine's idea for your loved one is to mail him/her a love letter at their office or home. You simply get a nice piece of paper and HAND write a love letter, poem or whatever you want on the paper.
Then head to the post office to mail the letter. Be sure that you will be posting the letter so that it arrives ON valentine's day. You'll probably have to pay a bit extra for it but that'd be bad if it showed up early or late.

Why is posting a letter romantic?
There are a few reasons why this is romantic. First it shows that you've been thinking about her/him and have planned far enough in advance to have the letter arrive on Valentine's day. Second, the letter will arrive completely unannounced. You can either make the outside of the letter show that it's a love letter from you OR you can just make seem like a plain letter so the surprise is on the inside. Finally, what you include in the letter is romantic.
What to include in the letter?
The letter should come from the heart. Anything that tells her exactly how you feel about her is a good start. If you aren't good at writing or can't come up with something then search online for a romantic poem. Then hand write the poem out (putting the author's name at the bottom) then write something along the lines of "My words can't express the way I feel for you but this poem does..."
